During the first few weeks of this term the children have been recapping on the Forest School rules and playing their favourite team building games. They have also done some amazing maths with acorns, making number bonds to ten and symmetrical pictures. They had great fun searching for all the colours of the rainbow in their natural surroundings.
This week we have been thinking about how seeds grow by acting out the life cycle with a rhyme. We then went on to think about how seeds are dispersed in different ways. We used a seed sock to brush against plants and see how many different types of seed stuck to it - just like an animal's fur!
As he weather became colder and wetter we have still managed to hold our Forest School sessions outside! We have done work on
identifying types and properties of materials, making shelters for a mouse and compass directions.
