During the week beginning 12th March we celebrated National Science Week. It started with a bang with a science demonstration for the school from a scientist called Rocket who did lots of fun experiments with us about air.
During the week Class one investigated which materials would be the best for making their kites. The children decided to test which materials were strongest, lightest, most waterproof and most flexible. They worked in groups and devised their own investigations, carried out the tests and then recorded the results. They have used this information to help them when designing and making their kites.
The Year 3 & 4 children in class two worked on experiments to find out more about how sound travels and the Year 5 & 6 investigated which materials were good conductors of electricity.
