On May 4th we took a group of Year 4 children to the cluster tennis festival at Malmesbury Tennis Club. All four players played extremely well. They soon got used to the smaller sized courts and participated in some closely fought rallies. Their serving improved as the afternoon went on. We were really pleased when the organiser James announced that "with a mammoth score of 217 points" Luckington was the winning team! Well done to Noah, Barney Jack and Alex.
The following week on the 11th May we started all over again with our year 6 tennis players. They all played well in the group stages and ended up coming top of their group. They then played Sherston in the semi final and beat them to play in the final against Lea and Garsdon. This was very close with some amazing rallies being played. The game that Martha and her opponent played was breath taking and earned a round of applause from all of the other competitors and all of the supporters! When the scores were announced we were delighted to hear that we had come first again! Well done to Martha, Freddie, Josh and Lotti.
