"Good buildings come from good people and all problems are solved by good design."

Stephen Gardiner

At Luckington, our main objective through DT is to ensure that all children are innovative, forward-thinking, and can plan and reflect effectively. Many of the skills taught in DT can be applied across the curriculum: planning, reflection and research to name but a few.

Much like with art, we believe DT is best taught in 'blocks'. Therefore, every term the children will do a DT topic, but it is often done in a series of afternoons over the space of a week or two. We have chosen this approach because we feel that the children can become fully immersed in a topic, rather than having a series of short, disjointed lessons.
