Homework

Each week your child will be set personalised homework tasks in spelling and maths. They will be travelling the globe on a Spelling Safari, as well as 'Rocking out' learning their tables with Times Tables Rock Stars! We expect TTRS to be practiced at least five times a week. The children are then tested on spellings and times tables on a weekly basis to ensure that they are confident with the different skills and knowledge set before they move onto the next objective. We ask for the children to have their spelling folders in school everyday and their maths folders every Friday. They are also periodically tested on all concepts covered to date, to ensure that they are retaining and applying their knowledge well.

Children also need to read at least five times a week with a grown up, for a minimum of 10 minutes. This is a valuable and enjoyable time to spend sharing a book and discussing stories and facts together. We can not stress enough the importance of reading and the positive impact it has on your child's academic and social development.
