Through our history curriculum we aim to ensure that all children develop an understanding of how what has happened in the past affects the present and the future.
We teach a discreet history topic once a year but embrace elements of the subject in other curricular areas where possible. For example, if we were looking at the geography of the local area, knowledge of nearby Roman settlements would be an integral part of the learning. Our local area is steeped in history and we like to base topics around it when we can.
